How does the AI detect fields on my PDF
Upload the PDF as it is, scanned or digital, in the language you already use with clients. AI locates the text fields, checkboxes, multiple-choice options and signature areas on the page and proposes a form from them. You then review the detected fields before the form goes live, so nothing ships that you have not checked.
Does the client fill a new form or the original PDF
The client fills a guided digital form built from the fields that were detected. Once they finish, the same original PDF is filled back with their answers and laid out exactly where those fields sit on the page, so the document you send back looks like the one you always used, just completed.
Can one set of answers fill more than one PDF
Yes. If a client's onboarding needs a service agreement, a consent form and a data-processing addendum, each built from its own PDF, one set of answers fills all of them, because every detected field maps into the same dossier for that client's case.
Does this work on the scanned forms I actually use
It is built for the paper-derived PDFs firms already have on file, not only PDFs created digitally from a template. Detection works across scanned and native PDFs and across languages, so the form you have used for years does not need to be redesigned before it can go online.
How is AI usage counted on my plan
AI page detection is metered per plan, counted per page processed each month: Solo includes 10 pages, Practice includes 120 pages, and Firm includes 400 pages. Once a document is detected and approved, running the flow with clients afterwards does not consume any further AI pages for that document.

Can field detection use my own AI key?
On Firm and Enterprise you can connect your own AI provider key. Detection then runs on your own account, the provider bills you directly, and the monthly AI page allowance no longer applies to your organisation.
