Document generation

Generate signed documents from form answers

A document step presents one of your own uploaded PDF templates, with the fields already detected, for the applicant to fill in and sign inline. A dossier step bundles several PDFs into one packet with a single merged form: an answer typed once appears in every document that asks for it, and one signature covers the whole set. Each PDF is sealed separately when the run completes.

  • Upload your own PDF templates, fields are detected automatically
  • Type an answer once, it fills every document in the packet
  • Each PDF is sealed and stamped separately at completion

How does an applicant fill in a PDF template?

A document step presents one of your uploaded PDF templates directly in the widget, already broken into the fields your team, or the AI, detected on it. The applicant fills those fields in and, if the template carries a signature spot, signs inline before moving on. There is no separate form to build: the PDF you already use becomes the form.

Can several PDFs share the same answers?

A dossier step presents several PDFs together as one packet with one merged form behind them. An address or a name typed once fills every document that asks for it, rules can compare a value in one PDF against a value in another, and a single signature covers the whole set instead of asking the applicant to sign each file separately, one at a time.

What happens to the documents once the run finishes?

On completion, each PDF in the run is baked with the answers, stamped with the signature, and sealed on its own, so a five-document dossier produces five separately downloadable, sealed files rather than one combined file. Every generated PDF carries its own advanced electronic signature, sealed with PAdES, and its own evidence page recording who signed it and when.

Can a document be generated before the whole run finishes?

Yes. A generate document step renders a document or dossier step's PDFs mid-run, so a later step, an outgoing webhook or an email, can send the finished file before the applicant even reaches the end of the workflow. Most of the time this is unnecessary, since a completed run already produces its documents on its own once the applicant finishes, with no extra step required.

Can I see what the document will look like before it's signed?

Yes. The applicant can preview the completed document before signing it, seeing exactly how their answers land on the page. Every layout stays your own: your template, your fields, your wording, your logo if you added one. Braigest fills the PDF in and seals it at the end; it never redesigns or reformats what you uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to rebuild my PDF as an online form?

No. Upload the PDF you already use and its fields are detected automatically, so the same document becomes the form the applicant fills in, instead of a form you build again from scratch.

If the same detail appears on three documents, do I type it three times?

No. In a dossier, an answer typed once fills every document that asks for the same detail, so an address or a company name is entered a single time for the whole packet.

Is the electronic signature legally strong enough to rely on?

Each document carries an advanced electronic signature, sealed with PAdES, and an evidence page recording consent time, device, identity method, reviewer decisions and audit history, all attached to the sealed file itself.

How many signed files come out of a dossier with five PDFs?

Five. Each PDF in the dossier is baked, stamped and sealed on its own at completion, so the run produces one separately downloadable, sealed file per template rather than a single combined document.

Can I compare answers across two documents in the same packet?

Yes. A rule inside the dossier can compare a value entered on one document against a value on another, which is useful when the same figure has to match across a pack of forms.
