For law firms
Client intake software for law firms
Send a new client one link instead of an intake pack emailed back and forth. They answer the conflict-check questionnaire, complete AML client due diligence, upload an ID, and sign the engagement letter or power of attorney on their phone. You get verified answers and the signed file ready to open the matter.
- Conflict check and AML due diligence in one flow
- Retainer and power of attorney signed and sealed
- Structured answers open the matter file automatically
What does the client actually do?
The client opens the link on their phone or a computer, before the first meeting or right after it. A guided form walks through the conflict-check questionnaire and the AML client due diligence questions, one at a time. They upload a photo ID and verify identity if the matter calls for it, read the GDPR notice, and sign the engagement letter, retainer or power of attorney. There is nothing to print, scan or bring to the office.
What do you get back?
Structured intake data, not a stack of forms to key into your practice management system by hand. The engagement letter, power of attorney and GDPR notice come back filled from the same answers, signed and sealed with an evidence page covering consent, device and identity method. Delivery is by webhook, REST or email. Conflict-check answers and any due diligence result sit alongside the file, reviewable before you open the matter.
Which documents does this replace?
Opening a new matter usually means chasing the same handful of documents through email: a conflict check, a due diligence form, an ID copy and a retainer to sign. One flow fills and seals all of it from a single set of client answers, so the file is complete before the first meeting rather than assembled after it, instead of a folder that gets built up over several separate calls.

- Power of attorney
- Conflict-check questionnaire
- GDPR notice
Do I need the compliance steps as a law firm?
For certain services, yes. Lawyers are AML-obliged entities in the EU when acting on matters such as property transactions, company formation or managing client funds, so due diligence applies there the way it does for accountants. Braigest supports identity verification through Didit or Onfido and sanctions or PEP screening through Dilisense as configurable steps, so you can turn them on for the matter types that require them and leave them off for the rest.
How does the PDF I already use become the form?
Upload the engagement letter, retainer or conflict-check questionnaire your firm already uses, in whatever language it is drafted. Braigest detects every field and turns the document into a guided form the client fills on their phone. The clauses and structure your firm relies on carry through unchanged, so the signed file still reads like the document your matter management system expects.
Which plan fits a firm of my size?
A sole practitioner runs intake and signing on Solo, at €29 a month. A small firm handling several matter types, and wanting the AI builder to draft new intake flows, fits Practice, at €149 a month. A multi-partner firm or one with several offices fits Firm, at €499 a month. Intake, due diligence and signing work the same way across tiers; scale and self-service building are what change.
Frequently asked questions
Can new clients complete intake before the first meeting?
Yes. The link works on a phone, and clients typically finish the conflict check, due diligence questions and ID upload before they arrive, so the file is ready to open.
Is the signed retainer or power of attorney legally valid?
It carries an advanced electronic signature with a PAdES seal and an evidence page. That is valid for private-law documents such as a retainer under eIDAS. It does not reach the top eIDAS signature tier, which needs a certified signing device, so notarial deeds and documents your national law reserves for that tier are out of scope.
Do all law firms need AML due diligence on clients?
It depends on the service. Lawyers are AML-obliged for matters such as property transactions or company formation, so due diligence applies there. Braigest lets you turn identity verification and screening on for the matter types that require it.
Can I use our existing engagement letter or conflict-check form?
Yes. Upload the PDF you use today and Braigest detects its fields automatically, so the same wording becomes a form your client fills on their phone, before the first meeting.
How does the signed file reach our practice management system?
By webhook, REST or email, matching whatever your system accepts. The signed documents and structured intake answers are delivered as soon as the client finishes, ready to open the matter.
